The prolific Ransom Canyon, Texas painter often surprises herself. "I never know exactly how it's going to turn out until it is finished."

Joyce L Runyan is proficient in watercolors, pastels, ink and oils. The artist finds acrylic offers her the best of all worlds: the fluidity of watercolor, plus texture far surpassing oils.
After earning an art degree from Methodist College, Fayetteville, North Carolina, Joyce Runyan pursued a Navy career. Retired now, she works in her custom-designed studio overlooking a scenic canyon on the South Plains outside Lubbock, Texas.
Runyan's credits include publication in several recent issues of SOUTHWEST ART and ACRYLIC WORKS 4 North Lights Books 2017
